It offers a country-style home that’s evident from the living room down to each bedroom. Speaking of, the bedrooms are impressively spacious and well-decorated with beautiful furniture, paintings, and light fixtures.
Their commitment to offering an inclusive menu is commendable, and it’s one of the reasons why it has garnered positive reviews online. For instance, they offer vegetarian options that use fresh produce!

Rideau Inn is one of the best bed and breakfasts if location is your top priority. It’s located in the heart of Ottawa, so everything you need, from malls to stores, parks, attractions, etc., can be accessed within minutes!
The place itself follows an Edwardian-era architectural style, with its most notable parts being its brick walls and alluring front porch. Meanwhile, the inside is a bit more modernised by featuring amenities like flat-screen TVs and a fully-fledged kitchen, but it still retains its old-timey charm.
The rooms are spacious enough for couples and small families—plus, they’re equipped with modern amenities like heaters and fast Wi-Fi connections! If you want our advice, however, we recommend opting for their room with an en-suite bathroom to enjoy the utmost privacy.
Pro tip:
Stop by Elgin Street and explore its cafes and restaurants during your stay in the area. If you want a peaceful atmosphere, however, you can just cross the street to St. Luke’s Park!

If you want to experience a cosy stay, then The Timberhouse Bed and Breakfast should be right up your alley. It’s also located in the pleasant neighbourhood of Sandy Hill, which is located a couple of blocks away from the beautiful Rideau River.
Even though it’s been around since 1902, it doesn’t feel ancient because of its modern and premium amenities. It features homey rooms that will give you the best possible sleep, thanks to its top-of-the-line heater/AC unit.
The breakfast they serve here is purely homemade, and you can even catch the host preparing them if you wake up early enough. Their selection mostly features Western delights, but my favourite is their golden hash browns!
Pro tip:
Follow their official Instagram page to see their ongoing promotions! They’ll sometimes hold special offers where you can save up to 20% on rooms.

The host is top-notch as well, as we never saw her take breaks! Aside from continuously cleaning the space, she made the most amazing breakfast every morning of our week-long stay.

It immediately stands out downtown because of its brick-walled exterior. Plus, given its location, you’ll have the luxury of being near the city’s best offerings—from museums to parks, street markets, and more!
However, the real highlight here is the host—they’re as accommodating as one can be! Their rooms and common areas are always tidy, the breakfast is fantastic.
