What impressed us about Merry Maids is their 40 years of experience in the cleaning business. For us, it shows their knowledge and skills when recruiting only the most qualified people.

Plus, we like that they’ve managed to build an exemplary training program. Because of that, we found that their cleaners will have the same cleaning strategies and methods.

Another thing we like is their free in-home consultation to provide a more accurate quotation. But we were glad to learn that there are also packages available that can be booked one time or for routine cleaning.

However, we found during our research that their deep cleaning prices are a tad higher than other services in Ottawa. If they included an add-on or two, we believe some clients would be happier with the rate.

On the bright side, we were impressed by their equipment. We learned that they have colour-coded microfibre cloths for every room in the house, eliminating possible contamination.

In addition, they use vacuums certified by the Carpet and Rug Institute’s Green Label, ensuring low emissions for better indoor air quality. Plus, we love that they avoid using harsh chemicals in the home, which we found particularly helpful when pets are present.

Another service we really like is their eco-friendly green cleaning. With this service, Hellamaid will only use green cleaning products to avoid harsh chemicals from being used in homes.

They’re also a BBB-accredited business. In our books, this accreditation is good news because it means they take customer complaints seriously.

From what we’ve seen, Euroshine caters to residential and commercial clients, cleaning homes and offices. We like that they’re available for one time or regular cleaning, which is convenient for busy bees.

But what’s even more impressive is their customized cleaning services. We appreciate that they will cater to special requests, which we believe is particularly useful for older people’s homes.

Moreover, we found that the Euroshine team can clean appliances like ovens and fridges. Honestly, the thoroughness of it all is an impressive feat.

We were also happy that Euroshine will bring all the necessary supplies and equipment for first-time cleaning. However, regular clients, especially those who book for routine cleaning, will need to provide their own supplies.

Nevertheless, this will result in cheaper rates. Once the client provides their own supplies, they can have flat pricing, which is more affordable than the normal fees.

We also want to note that they use  eco-friendly products. It’s much safer for the clients and their pets, so this deserves points!

However, their limitation lies in their schedule. Currently, they don’t have Sunday hours, which is a bummer.

A unique cleaning service we found in Ottawa is Mopify. What makes them stand out is they will match each client with a cleaner who is closer and offers affordable rates.

We also found that there are many cleaners available. They are all background-checked as well, which we appreciate.

However, we learned during our research that some clients were unhappy with the inconsistent service quality. Then again, it depends on the cleaner because other clients were happy with the service.

Another thing we like about Mopify is they provide a satisfaction guarantee. Should there be issues with the cleaning, they will send someone over to re-clean.

Also, we like their easy booking system. Clients can choose their preferred time frame to avoid long waiting times, which is another convenient factor.

Mopify is also one of the most affordable cleaning services on our list. They bill clients hourly rates, starting at $40 plus tax for a one-time cleaning or $34 plus tax for monthly cleaning.

A minor setback we found is their cleaners don’t come with supplies and equipment. Although we appreciate the reason since they want to avoid cross-contamination, it’s still a problem since other cleaning companies are fully equipped.

Also, clients will need to pay an additional $10 for the cleaners to bring their supplies. But we must mention that it still doesn’t include vacuum and mop.

Looking on the bright side, Mopify is available to clean every day. And, depending on the day, they can even accommodate same-day bookings—a plus for convenience!
