Pros
- Accredited by AAFP
- Offers regular and alternative treatments for pets
- Modern and clean facility
- Offers monthly wellness plans for pets
Cons
- Closed on Sundays
- Different operating hours per day
- Not available for emergency service
- Only 4 years in business
With three veterinarians and five veterinary technicians, the Legacy Veterinary Clinic has been providing animal care services since 2018.
They may be a lot younger than the other clinics in the area, but they’ve been generating a lot of interest because of the quality of care they provide.
We are glad to know that their vets have stellar credentials. All their vet and vet techs hold Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) and Registered Veterinary Technicians (RVT).
Owners of felines would especially love this clinic it has a special waiting room, equipment, and facilities specifically designed for cats.
Aside from the regular checkups and surgeries, we were pleasantly surprised that their clinic also offers alternative treatments via herbal medicine and acupuncture.
We are glad to report that their clinic has a parking space for customers. We love that their facility–especially the reception area–is neat and spacious, perfect for pets of all sizes.
Customers who have puppies and kittens can avail of their monthly pet care plan. Aside from three free checkups, pets can get neuter surgery, microchip application, and deworming, among others.
Most of the customers loved how friendly and gentle staff are with animals. One client mentioned that her two dogs were surprisingly comfortable with checkups despite being anxious in other clinics, which tells us that staff here are doing something differently.
However, their clinic has different operating hours each day and is closed on Sundays. We advise customers to be mindful and check what time they open and close on the specific day of their visit to avoid having to come back on a different day.
And although they accept same-day appointments, they aren’t able to accommodate emergency services. On a brighter note, we appreciate that they can refer you to a 24/7 emergency pet clinic should you be in need of it.

Pros
- More than 35 years of service
- Vets have decades of experience
- Online pet consultation
- Blog on pet care
- Huge parking space and well-designed facility
Cons
- Closed on weekends
- Not available for emergency service
Acadia Drive Animal Clinic has over 35 years of experience, gaining BBB accreditation in 2014. The clinic has three experienced veterinarians with decades of experience and 2 vet techs.
One of their unique services is their online pet consultation. Customers who want to reach out to vets for questions or concerns about their pets can conveniently do so virtually, which is a convenient option especially if you’re not sure your concern merits an actual visit.
We also love that they have blogs dedicated to pet care and other related topics.
Customers consistently mention the friendliness of the staff. They seem to have a huge heart for all animals, even going an extra mile to show their love for the owners and pets..
One story that touched us in particular was of a client who had to bid farewell for his 10-year old rottweiler at the Acadia clinic. He received a hand-written letter from one of their doctors, Dr. Mike Phillips, days after.
The clinic does not operate 24/7, but they have a referral clinic in case a pet needs emergency care.
We just wish they would open on weekends to accommodate pet owners who are busy working throughout the week.

Pros
- Over 30 years of experience
- Accepts emergency calls from pet owners
- Has a mobile app for easier access
- Collection of resources related to pet care
- Pet memorials
Cons
- Closed on Sundays
- Some pet services are not posted on website
The Castleridge Veterinary Clinic has been providing veterinary services for pets in Calgary for more than 30 years.
They have 4 vets and 3 vet techs that are qualified, licenced and equipped with decades of experience.
We are glad that in addition to providing pet care and surgery, they accept and prioritise emergency calls during their service hours. This is a reassuring feature for pet owners who need instant access to a clinic in an urgent situation.
We also like that they created a catalog of articles and other resources on their website about pet care.
Also, the clinic has a mobile app. We think it’s a helpful tool for customers because with it, they can message the clinic directly and check their purchases and pets’ appointment schedules with just a few taps, instead of waiting for an email or callback.
Customers can also have pet memorials posted on the clinic’s website by filling out a form online. We think this is one of the most thoughtful services we’ve come across so far, which indicates the level of care this clinic extends not just to pets, but their owners as well.
New pet owners who visited them were happy that they answered their queries on how to treat their new family member.
But, we think it would be better if the website displayed more information about their services. Many clients need these details readily available in case of an emergency, saving them many trips to different clinics.

Pros
- Clinic has been in business for almost 25 years
- Spacious waiting area and grooming space
- Blog features pet care for uncommon or exotic pets like reptiles and birds.
Cons
- Closed on Sundays
- Not open for emergency calls
- No emergency service referral
The Midlake Veterinary Clinic has been proudly serving Calgary pet owners for almost 25 years.
It is reassuring that aside from having DVM and RVT, some of their veterinarians have decades-long and diverse experience in their field.
Among the vets worth mentioning is Dr. Larissa Goodman. She has experience in handling different types of animals (from dogs and cats, to birds and other exotic pets) and specialises in preventive medicine, ultrasound, dermatology, and ophthalmology.
What we found unique about their clinic is that their blogs feature pet care tips about uncommon or exoctic pets like turtles, rabbits and birds. This is carried over in their product line, as they offer items for these pets as well.
Although the vet clinic is smaller than others, we like that their grooming space is so big that it can accommodate more than six dogs at once.
They reportedly also spend extra time with pets to soothe them prior to a procedure. One customer shared how the vets and receptionists were able to calm his anxious dog before a dental treatment.
But, we regret to inform clients that the clinic cannot accommodate emergency cases. And unlike other vet clinics, they do not have a referral clinic for these emergencies.

Pros
- Over 10 years in the industry
- Partnered with two pet insurance companies
- Good number of surgical and exam rooms
Cons
- Closed on weekends
- Varying daily operating hours
The Properties Animal Clinic has been around since 2007. BBB accredited the clinic in 2018.
Dr. Kent Morley is one of the veterinarians in the clinic worth mentioning. He specialises in diagnostic imaging, dentistry, and general surgery.
What we like about him is he regularly attends seminars and programmes to keep himself updated with the advances in veterinary medicine.
Also, we found that they highly prioritise emergency cases during their office hours. And they have a recommended clinic in case immediate care is necessary.
The clinic offers insurance coverage from its two partner veterinary finance companies, Petsecure and Trupanion. We are glad they have this as the payment option to accommodate customers and pets struggling financially during emergencies.
We felt reassured about the clinic because it is clean and well-lit and has a lot of surgery and examination rooms, which means that they can probably accommodate a good number of patients..
Customers complimented the clinic’s warm treatment towards them and their pets, especially those with special needs.
One client who owns an aggressive malamute-GSD mix breed was surprised at how the staff and vets handled his behaviour by just spending time with the dog so that he could get familiarised.
However, we advise customers who are planning to go for a visit to be mindful of the time, as the clinic has varying operation hours. Aside from that, the clinic is also closed on Sundays.
