One of the most easily accessible markets in Quebec City is Marché public de Sainte-Foy, situated right in the heart of Sainte-Foy! It’s the perfect place to secure your local goods, which are freshly picked and selected every day!
It has been around since 1976, making it an established market in Quebec City. It supports agri-food merchants and helps increase the business between local producers and buyers.
Browse through rows of vendors selling colourful blooms, fresh fruits and vegetables, quality meats and cold cuts, freshly baked pastries, and yummy prepared meals. You can do your grocery shopping here or purchase cooked meals ready for takeaway!
Guess what? The products change every month the market is open because of seasonal produce availability (but some you can buy throughout the season). You can enjoy yummy blueberries in August and pumpkins in September!
Pro Tip:
If you’re driving by Quebec, we highly recommend grabbing a jar of maple syrup at the market. Erabliere Isabelle Côté sells incredible maple syrup from their family sugar shack, so buy one (or two) when they’re in the market!

- Saturday – Sunday: 9 am – 6 pm
Fruiterie 440 is not the usual farmer’s market you’re probably used to seeing. When you visit, it looks like a grocery store. But this is actually a produce market selling local and imported products.
The most important part is that the quality of fruits and vegetables is fresh and superb! The prices? They’re super affordable, even more so than those giant supermarket chains.
There’s a vast selection of goods, and you can go home with so much produce without worrying about high prices and bad quality. Buyers’ convenience is important here because it’s completely indoors, so you and your produce are safe rain or shine.
Pro Tip:
Bring reusable bags to lessen plastic waste. There are plastic bags in Fruiterie 440 for bulk items, but you can bring your own to avoid bringing home too much waste.

Visiting the market is also a family-friendly affair, and that includes your furry companions. You and the fam can also watch cool performances because this Quebec market is always full of surprises!

Since this is an orchard, you and the whole family can go on a self-picking adventure— you can pick your own strawberries and apples! And when you’re done, bring the kids on a fun playtime at the giant inflatable!
The fun doesn’t stop there! This unique market experience includes tractor rides at the farm, as well as picnic areas if you need to take a break.

If you want to buy plants at the Marché Plante kiosk, visit in June. You’re free to contact them first to see if they’re open and avoid wasting a drive.

Marché public Cap-Rouge
Media credit: la_voie_des_jardins
Location: 4120 Rue Roberval
Contact: [email protected]
When: July – September
- Saturday: 10 am – 1:30 pm
The Marché public Cap-Rouge is a seasonal market that highlights Quebec’s agri-food businesses. It’s just a newbie compared to other markets in the city, but in just four years, it has earned its spot in the Cap-Rouge community.
The market goes on for ten Saturdays in the summer, with 35 merchants selling various goods. You can support local businesses selling delicious farm products, homemade baked goods, delicatessen, ground coffee beans, plants, and sweet delights!
Since this market in Quebec City isn’t massive, you can finish your shopping before it gets too hot out! You will also have a blast because the vendors have unique offerings.
Pro Tips:
We recommend taking the bus for a more efficient commute. Parking near the area is limited since Parc Provancher doesn’t have a lot of spaces and the spot near the church on Provancher Street is closed during an ongoing mass.
Biking is more convenient because the bike path goes directly to the market area. You can park at Parc Provancher.
Marché public de Beauport
Media credit: marchepublicbeauport
Location: 665 Ave Royale
Contact: [email protected]
When: July – September
- Saturday: 10 am – 2 pm
Every week in the summer, you can support the local community by going to the Marché public de Beauport. It’s still new, having started in 2022. But it has garnered a wide audience in the Vieux-Beauport district.
As an outdoor market in Quebec City, it’s easy to access for the whole neighbourhood. Every Saturday, the street is filled with producers and artisans selling quality products, as well as artists performing to make the market lively and festive.
Indulge your tastebuds with a wide selection of food, from fresh pastries to salad dressings. Make this summer the best by tasting the best wines and spirits from Quebec wineries.
Pro Tip:
The merchants change every week, so check their Facebook page for updates. They frequently post updates during the market season.
